I have been using a chain saw sharpener like the one you see here for 30 years. The reason I like a sharpener like this one as opposed to an electric sharpener, is control. With an electric sharpener you run the risk of burning the teeth or taking too much of the tooth off when sharpening. That doesn’t happen with a sharpener like this one. I usually do 3-4 strokes on each tooth and when I’m done the saw chain is razor sharp. I can also adjust the pitch and depth of the sharpener when sharpening the chain on my chain saw.
